We’re hosting two workshops on 21st and 22nd March 2023 for non-domestic Suppliers and Brokers to share their views. We’ll discuss options to strengthen the market and protect consumer interests, such as through a code of conduct.
Why are we hosting these workshops?
We want to develop the Retail Energy Code to protect consumer interests, regardless of which market participant they may deal with. Previously, we indicated to Ofgem that we consider it appropriate for any Third-Party Intermediary conduct rules to be set out in an industry-wide code that can be enforced impartially and effectively. Since then, Ofgem have implemented welcomed changes to the Supplier licence. We want to understand if these changes have addressed the issues and risks in the non-domestic market.
We want to take the next step in determining what steps RECCo could take to reduce the administrative and regulatory burden upon both Suppliers and Brokers whilst strengthening positive outcomes for consumers.
