QWhat access will non-REC parties and general users have on the REC Portal?
AAnybody can create a basic Portal account for themselves. Unless there is a reason why we should not share content, information, Portal features with general users, they will be available for anyone to access. General access from 1st September will include:
The Portal landing area, including REC news, links to third party websites (e.g. ECOES or DES) and other generally useful information.
The REC and its schedules, both as file downloads and as interactive content in the Energy Market Architecture Repository.
Knowledge articles about the REC.
REC Guides, FAQs and useful templates.
The change management process, including raising CPs and tracking their progress.
REC Release information.
Various online market entry and exit forms, to initiate REC entry or withdrawal, or allow you to manage your use of REC services.
Committee spaces containing public committee content.
Access to the helpdesk to raise support tickets with the REC Code Manager.
QHow will master administrative users for REC parties be expected to manage user access for their company?
AREC Parties and, by exception, other organisations that need to assign specific organisational permissions to employees, will be asked to nominate at least one master administrative user (MAU). The master administrative user is responsible for assigning roles to its organisation members. For example, for REC Parties, there is a role called “Performance Assurance” which allows the assignee to submit, view and download performance data for that REC Party.
The following organisational roles will be available for an MAU to assign on day one:
We recognise that expecting master administrative users to create and then manage all portal users within their organisation could create administrative overheads for MAUs. Users from your organisation who will only require access to publicly available information but will not carry out one of the above organisation roles, can just create their own personal REC Portal account without their organisations MAU getting involved.
If, at a later date, the user requires an organisation role, e.g. they become a REC Contract Manager when they previously weren’t, a service desk ticket can be raised. Once the code manager has completed the service request, the MAU can assign the appropriate role to the user.
