Four weeks into the live service we have received positive feedback from users about their initial experience. We are pleased that feedback specifically highlighted the swiftness and helpfulness of our operational teams in answering your queries and helping you navigate the REC arrangements. In line with our commitment of being honest and transparent, we’ll always report, respond, and act on your feedback, detailing this within our newsletter.
Sid Cox, RECCo CEO
We have been closely tracking issues and their resolution during daily early life support meetings which we put in place to monitor and prioritise activities.
The REC Code Manager has responded quickly to most issues, such as the small number of users who experienced some initial access issues due to incorrect security configurations.
We are disappointed about the temporary loss of search functionality within the Portal and hope you are using the operational teams to minimise the inconvenience caused.
We thank you for continuing to raise any issues so that we are able to improve and deliver the quality of service you expect. In response to feedback, there will be minor releases to put in place system enhancements planned between now and the end of the financial year which should not impact your day-to-day business needs.
REC Committees have now begun, including the first Change Panel which took place on 7th September, and we are pleased that the first Change Proposals are already being progressed ahead of the next scheduled REC Release in November.
To ensure all REC Parties are well informed of the first code release and know where to access pre-release information, the REC Code Manager is hosting an industry event on 11th October. You can register for it here.
September has proven to be a difficult month with the exit of a number of retail energy suppliers. We are mindful of the current situation in the market with concerns from suppliers and end customers alike while also needing to resolve the competing challenges of decarbonising, ensuring security of supply and affordability.
We will play our part by ensuring that we continue to offer an innovative, efficient and value for money service to our users and for the benefit of consumers. In that context, we’ve now started thinking about what lies ahead for RECCo and the retail energy market in 2022/23 and beyond, ahead of our strategy and budget consultation in January 2022.
Key to this development is understanding the concerns and priorities of our stakeholders, so we will be engaging with you over coming months.
