I started out in the energy industry 15 years ago, as an Account Analyst within Shell Gas Direct (later known as DONG Energy and Orsted) and during my time there worked on several initiatives, including Project Nexus and the AMR rollout.
I moved to ELEXON as an Operational Support Manager, where I had a portfolio of Parties and was responsible for monitoring their performance against settlement risks.
My role ensured Parties adhered to their obligations under the Balancing and Settlement Code.
After this I took a small break from the industry and worked for a company that delivered courses for anti-financial crime. During my time there, I was responsible for managing the learning portfolio for one of the world’s leading financial institutions. This experience has proved valuable in my new role, looking after the portfolio of Energy Theft services under the REC.
I was interested in joining RECCo, as I wanted to be a part of something new within the industry! This role provides me with a great opportunity to consolidate my experience and support RECCo in its ambition to make the retail energy market work better for industry and consumers.
I am a Senior Analyst within the Operations and Transformation team, and my role is to manage the REC Service Providers that deliver the Energy Theft Reduction and Metering functions.
These service providers have been procured to help RECCo deliver services in accordance with the REC, such as the metering auditors who assess the technical and health and safety practices required for the accreditation of metering organisations.
My day consists of establishing and maintaining relationships with the REC Service Providers and ensuring that the services are delivered in accordance with Code and Contractual obligations, and to the required quality standards.
As well as day to day service management, I have an eye on service improvement – identifying and overseeing the implementation of changes that will drive improvements and efficiencies. For example, I recently managed the implementation of the ETTOS security enhancements and will be leading on the project to consolidate the metering codes of practice.
This entails progressing changes through the REC Change Process, resolving any issues that may be affecting the way a service is carried out, collaborating within stakeholder workshops to work on marketing campaigns to create awareness of the services.
In every element of my role, my objective is to ensure that the REC Services sufficiently meet the expectations of our industry stakeholders and ultimately the consumer.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing netball, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. I’m the go-to for Jamaican style porridge, mac 'n' cheese and often the Games Master for events. I also dabble part time with Forex trading and enjoy random facts.
